My greatest love is my family. My wife and children are the roots that support
the core of who I am. They are my inspiration to be the best I can be. They
challenge me in ways that go beyond my physical and mental capabilities.
My family also extends to seemingly random people, or people with whom
I am not biologically linked. When it comes to love, biology is just a textbook
analysis. Love is not defined by such boundaries.
Some of these special people have known me for years, and some are familiar
faces behind counters at local eateries and stores. A smile, a wink, a wave, or
a hug, reminds me and reassures me that, ego aside, we are all in this life
In any event, my love for my family is unconditional, and vice versa. In giving
to them…I receive. It is beautifully effortless. That is the true spirit of love…
Anything else is fodder for drama.
